Pimms, Pilates and mindfulness

We are celebrating our tenth birthday by throwing open our doors to Haslemere’s residents, new mums and businesses. Join us.

The centre, which was created to provide treatment programmes and physio-led fitness classes to the general public, is holding a free open day on 18 July so that the curious can find out more about one of Haslemere’s best kept secrets.

Throughout the day there will be talks on osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, a post-natal question and answer session, a demonstration of an aquatic exercise called Ai Chi, a chance to join in a rehabilitative exercise class, Pilates on the lawn and taster sessions of mindfulness. Mums are encouraged to bring their children and to stay for the children’s storytelling. The centre hopes local people will make the most of the opportunity to try out some of the services it offers and to meet its team of specialist physiotherapists.

Ross White, Chief Executive at Holy Cross Hospital says: “In just ten years we’ve developed a comprehensive portfolio of physiotherapy and related services at The Physiotherapy Centre ranging from Pilates classes to acupuncture, hydrotherapy, post-natal classes, and specialist sports rehab. The only dedicated hydrotherapy pool in the area is among our facilities. We think all of that is something to celebrate and we’d like to share it with our local community. We love being part of Haslemere - many of our clients live or work locally - so we are looking forward to meeting more local people when we open our doors for the day on 18 July.”

The day’s programme starts at 10am and runs until 6.30pm. There’s free parking and tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. No booking is required so visitors can just turn up and join in.

Situated just a few minutes from Haslemere town centre and surrounded by woodland, the organisers are also hoping to tempt local businesses to join them at the end of the day for a relaxing session of Pilates on the lawn followed by a glass of Pimms and a chance to network.
